Santiago is one of the most cosmopolitan, safe, and active cities of the region. It houses the country's main administrative, commercial, cultural, financial, and governmental institutions. It has a population of over 6 million people, approximately a third of the country's population.
Santiago has been chosen as a city to be visited by Times magazine.
Santiago is surrounded by nature, located a 100 km from the coast and a 40 km from the Andes mountains, which allows for easy access to different tourist destinations: in less than an hour, you can be in a ski center or trekking on one of our national parks, and in an hour and half you can be at the beach or visiting Valparaíso, a world heritage site. In fact, you could go skiing and to the beach in the same day.
Santiago is located in the central zone of Chile and has a very nice Mediterranean climate, with four noticeable stations and temperatures that do not go below 0° on the coldest days or over 34° on the hottest summer days.
